Every week, we host tours in different cities across the Netherlands. These tours are designed especially for expats – to help you feel more at home, discover local highlights, and pick up useful tips for everyday life in your city.
Are you living in or near Amsterdam and curious to learn more about the city’s history, culture, and practical insider tips? Then this is the perfect activity for you. Come along, explore your new home, and connect with other internationals!

The total time of the tour is two hours, but we’ll also ask you to gather at the meeting point 15 minutes before the start of the tour.

The tour starting point will be communicated after you order your ticket.
We’ll make sure that it’s a central point that you can properly reach by public transport.
The tour follows a fun surprise route through the city, where you’ll learn more about its history, people and culture. The end point may differ per route, but we will not go further than 30 minutes by public transport from the city’s central station.

The tour will be fully in English. Other languages may be offered in the future.

Currently, to legal restrictions to prevent overcrowding in the city of Amsterdam, the tour has a limit of 4 people per time slot.
But that doesn’t spoil the fun! Think of it as a fun, cozy gathering with potentially new friends.
The other city tours have a higher limit (15 people).

Children under 18 are allowed to join if they are accompanied by an adult.
If children arrive at the start of the tour without a supervising adult, we unfortunately can not take them with us.

We’ll appreciate a heads-up if you can’t make it to the tour, but it’s not mandatory. If you wish to do so, just send us a message at hello@reachingexpatations.com.
If you wish to cancel your attendance and apply for a refund, you can do that up to 14 days before the event. Beyond that period, we unfortunately cannot honor your request, as also stated in our Terms and Conditions.
